Summer sewing

Summer somehow makes me want to sew more and knit less – it’s probably the instant wearability that triggers the reward system in my brain (I spend too much time on TED). My shirt dress is almost finished – the sleeves need attaching, hem stitching in place, buttonholes and buttons putting in. It looks like this so far:

You know how most of shops try to convince you that their choice of jeans cuts, shapes and colours will enable you to find your perfect fit… Well, I found none, and I swear I went everywhere. So I decided to cheer myself up and spend the jeans money on some fabrics to entertain me over the sumer. Here they are.

The duck egg coloured one at the bottom is some linen from Fabric Land, polka dot and black flowery one are cottons from Ditto, and the top ones are from Fabric Land as well. I’m hoping to make some more dresses from the Stylish Dress Book, or maybe the cover one from Pochee vol.5?

Call me crazy but I really like this dress with the dressmakers chalk still on it! and the raggedy edges!

I love the proper finished one too.
