Toast catalogues never cease to inspire me to do a little sewing.

Last summer I decided to copy one of their shirt dresses – things like that really suit my bodyshape (I am an apple, apparently). I managed to buy some lightweight white cotton at about £2.50 a metre in Fabric Land and found a similar pattern in japanese Stylish Dress Book (ISBN978-4-579-11185-5).

I decided to omit the pocket, the collar, and construct the front bib out of two separate pieces so it would resemble the Toast dress. I also drafted the cuffs and little plackets for cuff openings.

Unfortunately, I only managed to cut out all the pattern pieces before my uni started last year. Almost all my sewing stopped (apart from small projects), since it is much easier to do a little knitting on the train, than it is to find days that I could spend with my sewing machine.
Me and my machine are happily reunited now, and I am keen to finally finish this project, before the new Toast catalogue arrives. I am also on a lookout for a good quality swimwear fabric, any ideas?

Better be quick – my toast catalogue arrived a few days ago!
